Sun, sea and sand. North Cyprus has many great beaches. Most hotels along the coast have their own private sandy beaches where you can relax and soak up the rays. Even if you aren’t a resident of a hotel you can usually pay a daily admission fee to visit the beach and use the hotel’s facilities such as sun loungers, parasols, toilets and restaurants. Many beaches also offer extra activities like scuba diving, jet ski hire or parasailing. If you enjoy an adventure and want to find a secluded quite beach you can rent a car and drive along the coast to find the perfect spot.
Kyrenia Area:
Acapulco Beach

Acapulco beach is located a few miles east of Kyrenia. If you follow the main road look out for a sign pointing left when you reach a curve in the road as it heads right and up towards the mountains. As you follow the road left down the coast line look out for the large arched opening which is the main gate into the Acapulco hotel complex. As a visitor you will be asked to pay an entrance fee but the beach is one of the best in Cyprus and if you are visiting off peak season it shouldn’t be too busy. In the complex you will also find the usual facilities as well as a huge swimming pool and waterslides.
Camelot Beach

Camelot Beach is located 8 miles west of Kyrenia at the town of Alsancak. This beach is great for families and young kids as it has its own harbour stone wall barrier which means even if the rest of the sea is quite choppy with big waves the sea at this beach should be quite calm. As it is run by a local university the prices are quite reasonable. It has shower/WC facilities, sun umbrellas and loungers on the beach or you can also sit up on the loungers on the wooden decking. There is a restaurant and bar which plays live music at night and the club is open until the early hours.
Denizkizi (Mermaid) Beach
Denizkizi (Mermaid) beach
Denizkizi beach is another beach located west of Kyrenia. It is approximately 6.5 miles west of Kyrenia and is well signposted and easy to find. It forms part of the Denizkizi hotel complex but visitors can visit the beach or the large outdoor swimming pool and facilities for a fee paid at the entrance gate. There is a restaurant with WC facilities at the beach and you can also pay for activities like scuba diving, banana boat rides, parasailing or hire a jet ski.
Escape Beach & Club

Escape beach club is only a 5 mile short drive from Kyrenia. Its a gentle curved beach with lovely golden sand and very family friendly as sea is quite shallow and you will find all the facilities you would expect like toilets, showers, a restaurant and ample private parking for your hire car. The Escape Beach Club restaurant is open from 9am to 11pm at night. During the summer season the Club becomes one of the best nightlife spots where you can party in the outdoor venue into the early mornings. The club is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Karpaz Beach

Karpaz beach is located along the Karpaz peninsula which is pretty much untouched. You won’t find sun beds, toilets or restaurants on this beach but what you will find is a long stretch of golden sand and peace and quiet. This beach can be found by driving past Dipkarpas Village heading towards Zafer Burnu (Zafer Point or Cape Apostolos Andreas) which is the North East point of Cyprus.
Famagusta Area:
Glapsides Public Beach
Glapside beach can be reached by driving along the main road to Famagusta from Nicosia. Located around 2.5 miles north of Famagusta. This is one of the most popular beaches around Famagusta. Glapsides is a long sandy beach with shallow water. Various facilities are available including a restaurant, bar, shop, showers, sun loungers with sunshades and water sports. During the weekends of the summer season, the bar becomes very vibrant where you can party until early hours.
Silver Beach
Located at the south end of the ancient Salamis ruins. This is a great beach for swimming and snorkeling and the shallow water makes it safer for children. This beach does not have many facilities but you will find a cafe where you can order snacks and drinks.
